ATF recommended by Peugeot is ESSO 4HP20 AL4. ATF change requires about &lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;3.1 to 3.5 liters. Service centre analyzed the ATF sample that taken out from the gearbox. This can be feel when i driving my car. Remember that this car is equipped with ESP, correct tyre pressure will help ESP compute for optimum result.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Factory specified presure is 260kPa for front and 240kPa for rear tyres. With 260kPA the will feel hard and rough, lessen the comfort feeling due to louder tyres noise when running at rough and uneven road surface.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I set my front and rear tyre pressure at 240kPa, this is about 8% pressure reduction. From what i read from the trusted source, tyre pressure shall not below than 10% of specified pressure by the car manufacturer. Computerised alignment machine used with Peugeot 407's wheels alignment data is required. Poor wheels alignment i.e. angle of wheels ( toe and camber) can be adjusted straight away without additional items to be installed. Most of the car esp. Japanese and local brand with McPherson Struts need additional "special bolt and nut " in order to adjust camber. It is amazing that a car with a price like Japanese brand but rich of safety features, e.g: airbags. Two frontal airbags is common car's spec. today in Malaysia. There are cars with more than these basic frontal airbags, but  unfortunately all of these cars are categorised as luxury cars. The auto adaptive triple mode 'fuzzy logic' gearbox means that it is both faster and more economical. It also produces significantly lower emissions.&lt;br /&gt;Developed by PSA Group, the automatic gearbox draws on the latest in manufacturing technology, computer software, electronics and, in particular, fuzzy logic. The four speed automatic offers the driver a choice of three modes, Normal, Sport and Snow/Slippery.&lt;br /&gt;Beyond this each of the programmes has a further ranges of programmes it can use to provide the driver with the optimum gear changing solution for both his personal requirements and the driving conditions. These are chosen and mixed by the fuzzy logic software, so called because it takes decisions by classifying a very wide range of parameters in descending order of importance even if they are uncertain or contradictory.&lt;br /&gt;The software also operates to minimize exhaust emissions by working in constant communication with the engine's control and management system and it has a complete service, error recording and limp home mode. It can even detect when the P407 is going down a hill and provide engine braking as required.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight:bold;"&gt;Automatic with manual override – Porsche’s Tiptronic&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Porsche's Tiptronic was the earliest semi-automatic transmission offered by a major car maker. First appeared in 1990 in 911 as an option, it soon became available in 968, Boxster and licensed to Audi and Mitsubishi for production. Meanwhile, Honda, BMW, Chrysler and Toyota also developed their own version.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Based on an automatic transmission with torque converter, besides conventional auto mode it offers a manual override allowing the driver to shift by pushing the shifter forward and backward. Note that it is no quicker than a conventional auto. It only intends to enhance driving fun through involving the driver.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;In manual mode, the computer may intervene under harmful conditions. For instance, if the driver let the rev exceeding redline without upshift, the computer will shift automatically.&lt;br /&gt;Tiptronic was developed in conjunction by Porsche, ZF and Bosch. Such circumstances can be especially hazardous for vehicles, where even momentary loss of control could lead to potential rollover situations.&lt;br /&gt;Electronic Stability Control is the generic term for systems designed to improve a vehicle's handling, particularly at the limits where the driver might loose control of the vehicle.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="justify"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The system contributes enormously to improving safety by monitoring key stability parameters and automatically triggering appropriate controls. It is designed to work on wet or slippery roads (the aim being to loss of control resulting from either oversteer or understeer conditions) and on dry roads (where the main risk is roll over resulting from excessive speed or adverse camber on bends).&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="justify"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The system has sensors that measure lateral acceleration at the vehicle’s centre of gravity. If this force exceeds a predetermined limit, the engine torque is cut and wheel brakes are applied. ESP cannot override a car's physical limits. If a driver pushes the possibilities of the car's chassis and ESP too far, ESP cannot prevent a crash. It is a tool to help the driver maintain control.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="justify"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The system is able to detect driver reaction by comparing the yaw angle with the steering angle. If these do not correspond, engine torque is cut and wheel brakes applied to stabilise the vehicle. To grasp how it works, think of steering a canoe. If you want the canoe to turn or rotate to the right, you plant the paddle in the water on the right to provide a braking moment on the right side. The canoe pivots or rotates to the right. ESP fundamentally does the same to assist the driver.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div align="justify"&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Numerous international studies have confirmed the effectiveness of ESP in helping the driver maintain control of the car, help save lives and reduce the severity of crashes. In the fall of 2004 in the U.S., the National Highway and Traffic Safety Administration confirmed the international studies, releasing results of a field study in the U.S. of ESP effectiveness. NHTSA concluded that ESP reduces crashes by 35%. The prestigious Insurance Institute for Highway Safety later issued their own study that concluded the widespread application of ESC could save 7,000 lives a year. It scored close to the maximum number of available points in the frontal impact. The restraint systems and airbags, including a knee airbag for the driver, protected occupants and kept the driver’s chest and head away from the steering wheel. Side impact protection includes side airbags and a curtain airbag. Child protection was good but pedestrian protection proved to be average, with no protection given where an adult’s head would most likely strike. Front impact Dual stage non-tethered airbags for the driver and front passenger and belt pre-tensioners plus load limiters worked well. The driver’s knee airbag was also very effective. The body showed minimal deformation at its sill and screen pillar and only minor footwell intrusion. Rear seats each had three-point belts with load limiters. Side impact The seat-mounted thorax and pelvis airbag and head curtain airbag worked efficiently; the curtain also protected those sat in the rear. However, the 407 was penalised in this section of the tests because forces transferred in an unrealistic manner to the test dummy’s spine, so reducing the level of forces recorded by instrumentation in its chest.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Child-protection The recommended restraints were forward-facing Britax Romer Duo Plus, which were fitted to the car using ISOFix mountings. Both children were protected in the frontal and side impact although the older child’s chest load in the frontal impact was just a little on the high side. The 407 has a manual on/off switch for the passenger frontal airbag. Instructions for using it were given in a non-permanent pictogram and a written label on the passenger’s end of the fascia Permanent labels fitted to both sides of the passenger’s sun visor warned against placing a child in a rear-facing seat opposite an airbag.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Pedestrian protection The bonnet’s leading edge and, though less, the bumper gave protection.
